Welcome to Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada! CNSR 2007, May 14-17, is the Fifth Annual Conference on Communication Networks and Services Research, a great opportunity for exchanging ideas and forming linkages. It is a pleasure to announce the three keynote speakers who will present their vision of wireless and sensor systems in theory and in practice, David D. Falconer, Carleton University, Honourary Conference Chair, on "Air Interfaces For Future-Generation Cellular Wireless Systems," Norm Lo, Research In Motion, Ltd., on "BlackBerry Success and Growth: Asia Pacific," and Gregory J. Pottie, University of California, Los Angeles, on "Sensor Networks For Environmental Monitoring."

The members of the Technical Program Committee and the reviewers helped us in a timely manner. It was a pleasure to make new contacts and to renew old contacts. Diane Saurette, the CNSR Financial Coordinator, always presented a balanced perspective. Mark J. Dowe, the CNSR Webmaster, got us going in online conference management. The technical speakers bring it all together. Finally, I thank an unnamed professional contact for enlightening me of the benefits of being the conference general chair.
