Research Interests:
Digital signal processing, communications systems, radio and land-based communication protocols.

Richard Tervo has a B.Sc. (Physics) and M.Sc. (Experimental Nuclear Physics) from McMaster University and a Ph.D. (EE) from Université Laval. He joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1986.

Dr. Tervo has served as departmental Director of Graduate Studies (2002-2006), and as Undergraduate Coordinator (1994-1999) for the Electrical Engineering program. He sat on the UNB Fredericton Senate (1998-2006), as one of six faculty members elected at large, and was a member of the Senate Review Committee for two of those years.

Dr. Tervo is a registered Professional Engineer in the Province of New Brunswick (APEGNB) and a member of the Canadian Association of Physicists. He has served as Chair of the New Brunswick Chapter of the IEEE Communications Society since 2001.
