Abstract:

This talk will examine various aspects of wireless technology. Topics will include wireless multiple access technologies, mobile protocols and IEEE standards, wireless protocol groups, wireless products and applications, wireless "hotspots", global systems for mobile communication, and next generation wireless technology.

There is a possibility that a demonstration of wireless technology will be provided.

Light refreshments will be supplied by the IEEE New Brunswick Section. The talk is jointly sponsored by the IEEE New Brunswick Computer Chapter and the Department of Computer Science and Applied Statistics, UNB Saint John.

About the speaker: David Van De Wetering is an Account Executive with NortelNetworks, and has worked in the Nortel wireless division for the past ten years. His specialties include cellular technologies and wireless Internet.
