Abstract:
NB Power's Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station conducts yearly maintenance operations during a planned plant shut-down: typically, over 8,000 individual maintenance activities are carried out during a 40-day period. Planning for this outage and monitoring its progress is a project management task that requires in-depth knowledge of the Plant's operations as well as expertise in using industry-leading project and resource management software (in this case, Primavera).
Phillip Webb will give an overview of some of the scheduling and resource planning techniques used to manage this large compressed project. Anyone interested in project management, regardless of the domain, will find this presentation informative.
Note: The talk is sponsored by the IEEE New Brunswick Section, the Dept. of Engineering, UNB Saint John, and the Dept. of Computer Science and Applied Statistics, UNB Saint John.
