- (2014-06-24) I am supposed to write a proposal and have missed the deadline - what should I do?
- Unless I specifically said otherwise to you, the deadlines posted on this web site are guidelines intended to help you stay on target. If you want to get done by the end of the summer, you should aim to meet the deadlines, but missing them won't affect your mark for the courses you are enrolled in.
- (2014-06-24) I am working on a project with you, do I have to write a proposal?
- Unless I specifically asked you to, you do not have to write a proposal for your project. However, this is generally a useful exercise in gathering initial information and ideas and focusing in on a project definition.
- The proposal template provided in the sidebar is designed for graduate student thesis proposals, but fits well with any graduate student research project. It works well as is for some undergraduate work as well, but if you are an undergrad project student, you may consider simply writing out the 1st and 3rd sections (leaving out the 2nd section on "investigation").
