NOTE THE CHANGE IN LAB LOCATION FROM B17 to GD118

If you haven't already done so, make sure you have 'claimed' your UNB account so that you can log into the computers on campus, and access software available for you to put on your own computer (eg. MSOffice). Also, as a registered UNB student, you can download and install Matlab on your personal computer, which is the deveopment environment you will be using to write programs in CS1003 this year. To download matlab:

  1. Go to http://www.unb.ca/its/
  2. Select the Download Free Software Button
  3. Enter your UNB loginID and password
  4. Select Matlab (Personal Devices) in the list of available software for download
  5. Read the instructions on the page made available, and then follow the the link to The Mathworks web site to download your version of Matlab - this can take a while to install.

You should be working on the lecture activities and prepareing for the lab on Thursday. Try to solve the problems posted, and complete the matlab activities to get used to how matllab works. Come to the lab on Thursday with as much of the exercise done as you can, so you can get the help you need to actually finish the problem and get some feedback. After lecture on Wednesday, you should be well-positioned to evaluate some of your written solutions to the Lecture Activities. See if you can improve on your solutions to ensure that they are well-formed. For lecture on Wednesday, bring a calculator if you have one.

A 2nd Lab Exercise is also posted. We won't get a chance to cover its contents in lecture this week, some of you may find yourself with extra time in the lab and you can try it if you want, with help
