Abstract

In this paper, a technique for realizing a low condition number channel matrix for line-of-sight (LOS) multi-input multi-output (MIMO) transmission scenario is presented. The main idea behind the proposed work is to make use of a change in carrier frequency of adjacent transmit antennas to increase the MIMO capacity gain without requiring any additional bandwidth. We derive the criteria for the maximum capacity in terms of difference between carrier frequency for adjacent transmit antennas. The performance of this technique is investigated with the help of simulation results.
