We've got a sizeable, talented team at the moment, but are always willing to consider adding outstanding Masters, PhD, and Post-doctoral fellows.

There are four ways that you may contact me regarding potential research opportunities:

1) If you are currently doing research with a colleague of mine, please feel free to e-mail me regarding potential opportunities. Please include the term PGSCL in the subject line to ensure a timely response.

2) If your research background and/or interests are in the area of computational motor control, psychophysics, or exoskeleton control, you may download a survey that I ask students to take. This survey typically takes 2-3 hours to complete. Please e-mail me your completed survey, along with your CV. Please include the term PGSJWS in the subject line to ensure a timely response.

3) You may fill out the form that we use to consider potential graduate students within IBME. Your results will be assessed by all of our faculty, and any interested faculty member may contact you to discuss potential opportunities. We review these files every year in January, for potential acceptance in the subsequent fall term.

4) You may apply directly to the appropriate department. Please see the IBME grad-student page for details on applicable programs (electrical and mechanical engineering, kinesiology, and interdisciplinary), requirements, and other information.

Due to the high volume of requests that we receive, please do not follow up repeatedly to check on the status of your inquiry. Doing so will only cause us to refer you to option 3, and if repeated too often, to look unfavourably on your application.

We really value creating a diverse and happy group of graduate students who thrive in a productive research environmemnt that impacts the world. I hope that this process allows us to spend more time nurturing the students within the institute, while ensuring a streamlined process to make sure that we recruit excellent additions to our team.
