SWE Projects Currently Available:
Software Engineering Projects are available either through SWE4040 or SWE4913.
In SWE4040, students work in teams of 3-4 to develop a substantial software package across the school year. One package is chosen out of a list each year. The list is compiled by soliciting needs from the University community, and the IT sector in New Brunswick. If you are a department or small business looking for some software to be developed, consider submitting your needs to the course coordinator.
In SWE4913, a student works independently across one term on a project of their choice, as long as they can find a supervisor willing to guide them. The project can be a literature survey, a technology assessment, a development project or a combination thereof. The following are projects currently available from Dr MacIsaac:
- Tech Enabled Attendance Tracking (suitable for SWE4040 or SWE4913)
- This project involves the the development of a system which can automatically track student attendence in lectures, labs, tutorials etc. Alternative approaches to providing the service must be considered before choosing a solution, whcih will then be fully designed and implemented.
Note that SWE4040 is a 6ch course available to CS, INFO, CMPE, EE and SWE students.
